An Exceptional Family Needs An Exceptional Home.
Great Lakes Brewing Company’s Brewpub at 2516 Market Avenue is conveniently located in Cleveland’s charming Ohio City neighborhood, across from the historic West Side Market and only minutes from downtown—making us exceptionally easy to visit.
The Brewpub is actually a merger of three Victorian era buildings that originally housed the Elton Hotel, McClean’s Feed & Seed Company (GLBC’s Beer Garden served as a livery stable) and the Market Tavern—a popular watering hole for Cleveland’s legal and civil service professionals, including Eliot Ness, former leader of Chicago’s “Untouchables.” In fact, the Brewpub’s Taproom has bullet holes rumored to have come from the gun of Ness himself.
So, whether you’re in the neighborhood for a business lunch, happy hour drinks or dinner with friends, the Brewpub is your place for any and all occasions. And while you’re here, feel free to browse the extensive collection of historic brewing memorabilia and artifacts. Trade tales with our serving and bartending staff, who double as GLBC history buffs. And enjoy our delicious menu that celebrates fresh produce, meats and dairy from local farmers, each complemented by one of our many award-winning craft beers on tap. Guests are also welcome to visit our exceptionally comfortable areas including:
The Brewhouse: featuring an upclose view of the smaller brewing tanks used in the early days of GLBC and still in operation for “pub exclusive” beers
The Taproom: with an antique 1860s era Tiger Mahogany bar (Cleveland’s oldest) and the
aforementioned Eliot Ness bullet holes
The Beer Garden: an eco-friendly indoor/outdoor dining area with a retractable canvas roof, straw bale wall, radiant heat floor and fireplace
The Beer Cellar: a beautiful turn-of-the-century “rathskeller” complete with stone walls, brick floors, fermentation tanks and a wooden bar
The Gift Shop: connected to the Brewpub, it features a gorgeous brick and hardwood interior,
newly renovated façade, a wealth of merchandise and beer-to-go
