STORE CLERK
Great Lakes Brewing Company is seeking a detail orientated, self-starter to assume a Part-Time Store Clerk position. Position reports to the store supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Solid verbal communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to stay organized under pressure and make spontaneous decisions
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and troubleshoot when necessary
- Detail oriented
- Experience in retail or food service establishments
- Experience with Microsoft Office and customer management databases
- Flexible scheduling with majority of hours during nights and weekends
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Count and balance cash drawer
- Straighten and fold merchandise
- Restock shelves from in house supplies
- Dust all shelves, clean all glasses, including windows, shelves and counter, empty waste basket and vacuum throughout shift
- Check for soiled, ripped, chipped, broken, etc. merchandise and remove from shelves, tag reason for it removal, record reason in inventory log and report to Store Supervisor
- Check and update all price tags
- Count beer every morning and report discrepancies to Store Supervisor
- Check beer expiration dates to ensure proper rotation
- Check par levels and submit complete bill of lading
- Confirm received inventory, record in weekly inventory log and restock shelves
- Price tag all received merchandise
- Assist Store Supervisor with monthly inventory
- Receive and deliver all mail and UPS deliveries
- Answer telephone and take reservations when Receptionist is unavailable
- Customer data entry when necessary
- All other tasks deemed appropriate

SERVER MANAGER
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
- Minimum two years of experience in the restaurant/hospitality industry
- Prior management experience required
- Ability to lead a team
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
- Dedication to ensuring excellent service
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Eye for detail as it pertains to event production
- Willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Personnel and Training:
- Responsible for scheduling, training, development and discipline of the server, host and Fatty Wagon and tour guide staff
- Educates the server staff about new offerings and menu changes
- Conducts daily Q-Time meetings with staff
- Responsible for maintaining all service standards during their shift, including the host staff, the bar staff and the service staff
- Completes the manager log at the end of the shift and updates the contact book
- Audits labor at the end of each shift to make sure everyone is properly clocked in and out
- Responsible for maintaining all daily and weekly sidework charts
- Conducts evaluations annually with the server, host and tour guide staff
- Conducts interviews for all FOH positions
- Conducts department meetings every six months to revisit policies and procedures and connect with the staff
- Audits uniforms and orders as needed
Customer Experience:
- Responsible for table visits during the shift to make connections with the guest and follow up on service issues. 100% is the standard.
- Rotates throughout the restaurant during peak periods (11:30-1:30, 5:30-8:30)
Event Operation:
- Establishes and maintains organized banquet equipment inventory
- Makes recommendations and research sourcing for the procurement of equipment and supplies as needed
- Provides event hosts with a point of contact leading up to their event, then ensure that they meet a management-level GLBC contact upon arrival
- Ensures the smooth execution of large parties
- Enhances guest service experience at both in-house (marketing) and private events
- Works with Retail Development Manager to establish and maintain event policies; establish and enforce service and table standards for events; establish and maintain the use of a Banquet Event Order book
Physical Plant:
- Responsible for the coordination of major cleaning projects in conjunction with the General Manager
- Assists in the monthly bar inventory
- Establishes pars and ensures we carry a responsible amount of product as directed by the General Manager
Finance and Communication:
- Attends and participates in the weekly manager meeting
- Deposits all monies for uniforms and beer school at the end of the month
- Accurately completes paperwork pertaining to labor and necessary documentation for accounting

BUSSER
20-30 hours per week Monday through Saturday
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clears and cleans all tables, maintains clean side stations, stocks glassware
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
- Busses tables and provides guest assistance to servers
- Checks the overall cleanliness of the restrooms on a routine basis
- Maintains a clean and organized work area
- Re-stock service items that support team service (glasses, ice, expo, garnishes, etc.)
- Prepares and or maintains stock (bar garnishes, glasses, beer, etc.) necessary for bartending function
- Empties trash cans when needed
- Assists in transporting bus tubs and dirty dishes to the dish room
- Completes assigned cleaning duties
- Cleans glassware throughout shift
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
- Experience working in food service preferred
- Strong organizational skills and work ethic
- Stands during entire shift
- Frequent immersion of hands in water every 20 minutes
- Ability to wipe down table tops, table legs, pick up debris off of the floor and wipe down booth seats in all areas of the restaurant
- Transports glass racks, trash cans, cases up to 30 pounds and kegs frequently
- Demonstrate safe work habits
- Willingness to work flexible hours
PHYSICAL STANDARDS:
- Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for period up to four (4) hours in length
- Must be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
- Must have good balance and stamina
- Must be able to climb stairs throughout a shift
