Family of Beers Spotlight: The Colorful Character

Posted May 11, 2011 By GLBeer Snob

How about this weather Cleveland?! You know it’s spring when you start to see tulips, green grass and Great Lakes Brewing Company’s Holy Moses White Ale, a Belgian wit ale spiced with orange peel, chamomile and coriander.

For Clevelanders, Holy Moses represents the city’s historical beginnings. Holy Moses is named after Moses Cleaveland, the man who explored the Great Lakes waters and, after landing at the mouth of the Cuyahoga River, established Cleveland, Ohio!

The ingredients in this beer are what make it such a fan favorite. Wheat beers are generally low in hop bitterness, highly carbonated and frequently light-bodied, which results in a flavor that is tangy, fruity and refreshing. Available now through July, Holy Moses pairs well with seafood, salad and egg dishes and is the perfect beer to enjoy poolside, at ball games and at backyard BBQs. I would recommend a pint of this beer in GLBC’s eco-friendly, indoor/outdoor Beer Garden (which features a retractable canvas roof!) or outside on the Market Avenue patio. Be sure to visit our onsite Gift Shop for a variety of Holy Moses merchandise, as well as beer-to-go!

Please join me as we raise a pint to warm weather, craft beer and the man who discovered our beloved city. Cheers!
