Hale Farm & Village Garden Tours
August 19 & 28, 2010

Depart the Rockside Train Station at 9 AM; return at 3:40 PM

This summer, leave the car behind and take a ride by rail to Hale Farm & Village in Bath, Ohio! This leisure experience will take you back through the centuries to the time when the Cuyahoga Valley was just being settled and farmed.

The guided tour at Hale Farm will include:

  • a look at the Farm's historically recreated gardens such as the pioneer garden, kitchen garden, dye garden, herb garden and spectacular ornamental garden that features heirloom varieties of fruits, vegetables, flowers and trees.
  • The tour will also spend time at Great Lakes Brewing Company's "Pint Size Farm", now in full bloom.  Nestled in the heart of Hale Farm & Village, Pint Size Farm provides fresh organic produce for GLBC's Brewpub.  Learn historic gardening techniques from GLBC's gardener Christine DeJesus and how to apply to a 21st century garden.

Tickets include a train ride to Hale Farm & Village, a boxed lunch and guided tours of the museum's historic gardens and GLBC's Pint Size Farm.  Tickets are $50 adults, $45 children (3 - 12).

For reservations, visit the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad!
