GREAT LAKES INTRODUCES NEW YEAR-ROUND ORANGE & HONEY WHEAT
AVAILABLE NOW AND FEATURED IN NEW SUNSHINE PARTY PACK

CLEVELAND, Mar. 03, 2026 — Great Lakes Brewing Co. (GLBC) announces its latest beer innovation for 2026, Orange & Honey Wheat. The new brew debuts early March, followed by its inclusion in brand new Sunshine Party Pack alongside seasonal favorites and pack exclusive Orange & Lime Shandy.

Orange & Honey Wheat: The Right Beer All Year
Orange & Honey Wheat is a quenching ale brewed with a touch of honey and a twist of blood orange. The 5.5% easy-drinking brew will be sold year-round on draft and in 12 oz can 6-Packs.

Great Lakes will continue to offer Cran Orange Wheat (September) as a limited seasonal in 6-Packs and draft, but a year-round everyday drinking Wheat Ale was missing from the brewery’s always-on portfolio, and Orange & Honey Wheat fills that gap.

“We’ve had peak and valley sales with our wheat line-up these past few years due to how the beers were too aligned with seasonality so we decided to develop a flavor-forward beer with broader, year-round appeal,” says Co-CEO Chris Brown. “Orange & Honey Wheat is perfectly balanced between the citrus and honey, and it’s the kind of beer that will be enjoyed in any season, anytime of the year. This beer is not just for wheat fans, but fans of flavor.”

Innovation Shines in New Party Packs
After an early March release, Orange & Honey Wheat also appears in the new Sunshine Party Pack, the 2nd of GLBC’s new range of rotating, occasion-based variety packs. Also included in the late-March variety pack are returning warm weather favorites Mexican Lager with Lime and Rally Drum Lemon Shandy, and a new Sunshine Party Pack exclusive Orange & Lime Shandy.

GLBC’s reimagined variety pack approach has already seen success in 2026, with January’s Irish Party Pack (available now). Marketing Director Vicki Campana speaks to the strategy, “Experiences continue to drive our approach. We want to be where our customers are and make it convenient and appealing for them to make Great Lakes part of those experiences. With Sunshine Party Pack, we are also able to introduce a new year-round brand in Orange & Honey Wheat to fans who already know and love our Mexican Lager and Shandy, and drive excitement with the exclusive Orange & Lime Shandy.”

With the addition of new year-round Orange & Honey Wheat, reimagined variety packs, The Float Shoppe Social Sodas, and recent market expansions into Florida and Tennessee, the independent Ohio brewery shows its continued focus on strategic growth and innovation. Orange & Honey Wheat is available now in the GLBC gift shop, and making its way everywhere GLBC beer is sold.

Sunshine Party Pack Releasing March:

Orange & Honey Wheat (NEW!): 5.5% ABV. Also available in 6-Pack cans & draft.

Mexican Lager with Lime: 5.4%. Also available in 6- and 12-Pack cans, & draft.

Sarris Candies Announces Partnership with Great Lakes Brewing Company

Two beloved brands unite for limited time confection-inspired Chocolate Ale

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Feb. 27, 2026 – Northeast Ohio’s Great Lakes Brewing Company and Western Pennsylvania’s Sarris Candies are proud to announce their first-ever collaboration: Chocolate Ale. This sweet, smooth-drinking golden brew was crafted with the nostalgic flavors of Sarris Candies chocolates in mind. This limited edition brew celebrates regional pride, nostalgia, and collaborative innovation.

Chocolate Ale will be available on draft and in 6-pack 12 oz. cans for a limited time beginning early March, just in time for the Easter season, and predominately in Giant Eagle stores throughout Western Pennsylvania and Northeast and Central Ohio. Chocolate Ale will also be served on tap at the Great Lakes brewpub, and sold to-go in the Great Lakes gift shop while supplies last.

Innovation Meets Tradition
This 6.0% ABV ale features a decadent mix of chocolate and vanilla flavors, crafted to capture a smooth and rich melt-in-your-mouth flavor reminiscent of enjoying Sarris Candies chocolate confections. Brewed with lighter malts, the ale’s color is closer to caramel than chocolate, which makes it an even more unique offering compared to many of the darker chocolate beers in the market.

“Nothing quite captures the experience of enjoying a box of Sarris chocolates, but we feel we got pretty close,” says Great Lakes Brewing Co. Co-CEO Steven Pauwels. “This is a truly innovative brew that unites two well-loved brands. We’re proud to share our original approach to a chocolate-inspired brew.”

A Sweet Partnership
Through a long shared mutual partnership with Giant Eagle Stores, Great Lakes Chocolate Ale and Sarris Candies will be shoppable in time for the Easter season, giving customers an exciting treat for seasonal gatherings. Select Giant Eagle Market District locations may also offer Chocolate Ale on tap so customers can sip and shop.

Sarris President and CEO Bill Sarris says, “As two legacy family-owned regional brands with decades of experience, we are thrilled to come together to delight our customers with something special that speaks to our shared values of craftsmanship, tradition, community, and innovation. Whether we fill easter baskets, coolers, or both, we are excited for this first-time partnership to hit Giant Eagle shelves and sweeten the season together.”

Great Lakes Brewing Co. x Sarris Candies Chocolate Ale releases in 6-Pack 12 oz. cans at Giant Eagle stores and select retailers throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania starting in March.

GREAT LAKES BREWING CO. ENTERS TENNESSEE
MARCH LAUNCH DELIVERS BELOVED BRANDS IN PACKAGE & DRAFT

CLEVELAND, Feb. 24, 2026 – Great Lakes Brewing Co. (GLBC) announces its distribution entry into Tennessee with Lipman Brothers. The storied independent Ohio craft brewery marks its Tennessee market debut this week, with a variety of classic brews in 6-Pack cans and draft:

The launch will serve the entire state as the brewery explores opportunities in the market. Though a top 20 U.S. craft brewery, GLBC has a comparably small regional distribution footprint, which it has strategically expanded in recent years. In late 2025, GLBC took a similar approach to its Tennessee rollout when bringing its beverages to Florida.

GLBC Co-CEO Chris Brown says, “For 38 years, Great Lakes Brewing Company has been defined by quality, consistency, and a strong seasonal portfolio that gives consumers something to look forward to throughout the year. Tennessee has long been a market where retailers and fans of the brand have asked for our beers, which have built a loyal following wherever we operate. With a focused lineup of proven brands and a strong partnership with Lipman Brothers—whose deep market expertise, disciplined execution, and reputation for building brands align perfectly with our own—we’re confident this is the right moment to bring Great Lakes to Tennessee and compete with purpose in a dynamic and growing market.”

With Lipman Brothers, GLBC plans a gradual entry including samplings and events to introduce their classic, sought-after Midwest brews to the state. Customers can expect to find cans and draft of Dortmunder Gold Lager, Eliot Ness Amber Lager, Edmund Fitzgerald Porter, and Midwest Hazy IPA beginning this March. Other brands and packages including seasonals may follow.

Packages can be located using the brewery’s Beer Finder tool at greatlakesbrewing.com, which will populate in the coming weeks. The brewery encourages fans seeking GLBC beer to request it from their favorite retailer, and to follow their Instagram, X, and Facebook accounts for updates.

We all love the comfort of the cozy local pub where everybody knows your name. The worn wood bartop and brass footrail to rest your weary legs, the cozy booths, the smell of fish and chips wafting across the din of a pleasantly crowded room.  But you know where else everybody knows your name? You know where else you can rest your legs and get cozy? Your own home!

That’s where Irish Party Pack comes in. A limited variety pack featuring seasonal favorite Conway’s Irish Ale, 2025’s fast favorite Conway’s Irish Stout, and exclusive new Irish Lager, Irish Party Pack brings the flavors and feel of a classic pub experience to you. And we know something about a classic pub experience. GLBC’s Irish-American owners Pat and Dan Conway first opened our beloved brewpub in 1988, and we’ve been serving up fresh brews, local fare, and friendly fun-loving experiences within those history-filled walls ever since (you can learn even more about Conway’s history here).

So how can you take your Irish Party Pack festivities to the next level? Here are some ideas to help you bring the pub home.

Photo of Great Lakes Irish Party Pack on wood backdrop

Half & Halfs are a whole vibe
You ever watch in awe as a Great Lakes bartender pours a perfectly separated half & half pint with your favorite stout and lager? No disrespect to the pros, but you have the power to do just that at home! Start by filling a pint halfway with Conway’s Irish Ale or Irish Lager. When you’re ready, hold a spoon upside-down over the top of the half-full pint, and very slowly and gently pour your Conway’s Irish Stout over the center of the spoon so it falls smoothly and rests atop the bottom half of your pour. Both beers should appear layered in your glass, and will create a fun flavor combination. Conway’s Irish Stout + Irish Ale will double your malt-forward richness, and Conway’s Irish Stout + Irish Lager will give you a smooth, crisp contrast. Can’t get your hands on Irish Lager? Try it with a trusty Dortmunder Gold Lager!

If side-by-side is more your flavor, try a boilermaker combo! A half (or full) pint of any of these brews makes a friendly neighbor to your preferred Irish whiskey or liquor.

Snacks, on the house
Whether you’re hosting a hoops tourney watch party or a St. Paddy’s pregame, good eats are essential. At our brewpub we serve up pub classics like fish & chips, reuben sandwiches, and burgers, all incorporating our beer as an ingredient. You can do the same at home, and with a few cans of each brew in the Irish Party Pack, even if you add a little to a recipe you’ll have plenty left for the chef. Here are some recipes we think would be a great fit for your hosting gig:

Conway’s Irish Ale Corned Beef
A simple, classic St. Patrick’s Day recipe that’s as easy to make as it is to savor.

Conway’s Irish Stout Milkshake
This boozy milkshake recipe comes together quickly and makes a perfect date night dessert. Add your favorite Irish Whiskey or Irish Creme for even more flavor.

Conway's Irish Stout Milkshake by Great Lakes Brewing Co.

Irish Lager Bar Mix
We love a bar seat, especially when it comes with salty snacks. Substitute Irish Lager in this Cold Rush-infused bar mix recipe for your next gameday watch party.

Bonus bites to build your base
Grab some Midwest IPA and give these Smoked Cheesy Meatballs a shot for an indulgent and hearty party appetizer (recipe by Graham Russell), or really bring out the pub chef in you and serve up some Midwest IPA Cheeseburgers and Onion Rings (dubbed “the Midwest handshake” by Chef Sarah Mikulski).

Or, add some brunch-worthy Crispy Dortmunder Gold Lager Potatoes to your kegs & eggs spread.

What’s on, lads?
It’s not a proper pub night without a little entertainment. Not everybody has space for dart boards, billiards, and cornhole. But you can still bring that bar feel home with your favorite tabletop board game or fidgety fun pub classics like Shut the Box and Hook & Ring. Better yet, why not host your own pub trivia and hand out drinks to the winners?

As the Official Craft Beer of the Cleveland Cavaliers, we’re big hoops fans here at GLBC. So we’re always going to recommend gathering on gameday. Set up a projector outside for the March hoops tourney and throw your Irish Party Pack on ice to make the big event feel even bigger.

For some cultural fun, have your friends write limericks over a few brews and give a prize to the funniest one. Serve your kegs & eggs with a side of Irish rugby or football, or just put on some Irish tunes and enjoy your company.

Your party, your way
The best thing about Irish Party Pack is that it puts the power of the pub in your hands. You can brew up your own adventure and sample a flight of delicious Irish-inspired brews without ever having to worry about making a reservation. Now that’s lucky.

How do you “craic” open your Irish Party Pack? Tag us in your celebrations on Instagram and X for a chance to be featured. And stay tuned for more seasonal Party Packs!

(But also, pubs are great!)
And we’re partial to ours! So make sure you follow @glbcbrewpub on Instagram and stay tuned to our Events page for St. Patrick’s Day festivities!

UPDATE:
As of March 20, 2026 we can no longer produce and sell THC beverages in the state of Ohio. We are working to bring The Float Shoppe to states where THC products are legally sold including Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois. We will update states as they become available. Not all flavors/dosages will be available in all markets, and availability may change without notice. If you live in a state where THC beverages are legally sold, we encourage you to ask your local retailer to order The Float Shoppe.

GREAT LAKES BREWING CO. INTRODUCES THE FLOAT SHOPPE
A NEW LINE OF THC-INFUSED SOCIAL SODAS

CLEVELAND, Jan 27, 2026 — Great Lakes Brewing Co. (GLBC) today announces The Float Shoppe, its first full line of THC-infused beverages. The Float Shoppe Social Sodas will debut in late February 2026 across select markets.

Retro Inspired Flavors, Modern Craftsmanship
The Float Shoppe brand delivers nostalgia with a contemporary twist. Inspired by classic soda fountains and ice cream parlors, the line features colorful retro branding for a playful mix of carefully crafted vibrant, nostalgic flavors. The initial launch includes four varieties in assorted THC doses:

  • Lemon Lime Rickey – 5mg THC
  • Root Beer – 5mg THC
  • Cherry Cola – 10mg THC
  • Orange Creamsicle – 10mg THC

Why Social Soda? Crafted with real cane sugar and natural flavors, Float Shoppe Social Sodas are low calorie, gluten free, non-alcoholic, and contain less than 5g of added sugar per can. All flavors will be sold in 12 oz. can 4-Packs.

Beginning in February, The Float Shoppe will launch with authorized retailers in select markets, including onsite at the Great Lakes brewpub and gift shop.

Photo shows lineup of four unfilled cans of The Float Shoppe Social Soda by Great Lakes Brewing Co, in front of a stack of cans.

Reaching New Audiences
Great Lakes continues to diversify its beverage portfolio to meet an ever-changing market. In 2025 the brewery began offering a limited THC-infused seltzer exclusively in its gift shop. Co-CEO Chris Brown underscores the importance of versatility in today’s market. “Consumers are looking for options tailored to specific occasions and lifestyles. The Float Shoppe connects us with new audiences, while staying relevant for fans who already love and trust Great Lakes, and want to explore new experiences.”

It also has unique characteristics to appeal to a wide variety of drinkers. “With better-for-you sodas growing in popularity, younger drinkers seeking big flavors, and older audiences beginning to embrace hemp-infused beverages, The Float Shoppe has potential to hit right down the middle,” Brown said.

A Trusted Standard in an Emerging Category
As THC-infused beverages gain momentum in the craft beverage market, GLBC brings decades of expertise in quality control and compliance. Co-CEO Steven Pauwels notes the brewery’s advantages. “Craft brewers are uniquely qualified to step into this space. We already operate with rigorous testing, safety protocols, and clear labeling standards. Consumers know Great Lakes for consistency and craftsmanship, and The Float Shoppe reflects those same values and standards.”

Positioned for Growth
GLBC leadership continues to monitor cannabis legislation and advocate for common-sense labeling and regulatory standards at both state and federal levels. To start, The Float Shoppe will initially launch onsite at GLBC and in select states to be announced. Marketing Director Vicki Campana notes the long-term opportunity, “Being able to offer THC-infused products is vital for the growth of our industry. We look forward to expanding distribution and eventually exploring online sales, but our focus right now is getting this exciting new line into the hands of as many customers as possible.”

The Float Shoppe Social Sodas release late February in 12 oz. can 4-Packs. Customers can learn more at thefloatshoppe.com and greatlakesbrewing.com
