GLBC at IX International Beer Fest

Posted May 2, 2012

Great Lakes Brewing Company has an even bigger presence at this year's International Beer Fest. We hope you'll stop by to say hello to our friendly staff at our pouring station and sample a new Pub Exclusive like Rally Drum Red Ale or an old favorite like Dortmunder Gold Lager. And if you're a seeker of rare beers, we have some treats for you too...

The Fest will take place on May 11th and 12th at the I-X Center.

Friday Night Highlights:

GLBC Co-owner Pat Conway and Environmental Programs Manager Saul Kliorys take the Brew U stage for a panel discussion on sustainable brewing. Hear the latest industry trends from pioneers in sustainable brewing and farming while sampling GLBC's award-winning Edmund Fitzgerald Porter and Burning River Pale Ale from biodegradable corn cups.

7:30PM-8:30PM: GLBC Brewer Luke Purcell will participate in a roundtable discussion of barrel-aged beers along with representatives from Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales, Thirsty Dog Brewing Co., and Goose Island Beer Co. After the discussion, Luke will tap a 2010 barrel of Barrel-Aged Blackout Stout in the VIP area.

At the Real Ale Bar, we'll be pouring a cask-conditioned Edmund Fitzgerald Porter with cherries and vanilla.
