Hop College: IPAs

The taps are on, the beer is pouring, and class is back in session – virtually! Expand your beer knowledge from the comfort of your home at Hop College: Style Analysis. This month’s focus? India Pale Ales! Join Certified Cicerone® Great Lakes Brewing Co. staff as we crack open the history of IPAs and taste some of our favorite hop-forward beers.

Students who enroll in Virtual Hop College: Style Analysis will head to the virtual “classroom” where GLBC Education Coordinator and Certified Cicerone® Michael Williams will help you tap into a deeper understanding of IPAs with a guided tasting complete with sensory analysis, a rundown of the history and style guidelines, and more during this crash course on all things hops. There won’t be any textbooks, but we will have plenty of beer to help enhance your learning. We will be tasting:

Hazecraft IPA
Great Lakes IPA
Commodore Perry IPA
Burning River Pale Ale

Each General Admission ticket will include one 12 oz. can or bottle of each beer, so feel free to have a study buddy join you! Students who participate in this class will receive a special Hop College branded Teku glass and bottle opener. Feeling like adding on some extracurriculars? We have beer to-go available at the brewpub! Just show your ticket confirmation at the Gift Shop when you come to pick up study beers for $1 off one 32 oz. crowler fill!

Graduate at the bottom of your glass at Hop College, where our virtual taproom is your classroom!
