Eliot Ness Mushroom Gravy

Eliot Ness Mushroom Gravy

- 1 stick butter
- ½ C flour
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 pint mushrooms, sliced
- 1 12 oz. bottle Eliot Ness Amber Lager
- 3 C beef stock
- Salt and pepper, to taste


In a small saucepan, melt butter. Add flour to melted butter and whisk until smooth to create a roux. Set aside. In a pot, heat oil and sauté mushrooms until soft. Add beer and stock and bring to a boil. Simmer for 10 minutes, then whisk in roux to thicken. Serve over meatloaf, pot roast, or mashed potatoes for a delicious home-style meal.
