- 1 12 oz. bottle Dortmunder Gold Lager
- 3 large eggs
- 1 C cold water
- 5 oz. cornstarch
- 2 C all-purpose flour
- 2 lbs filleted whitefish (walleye, cod, or tilapia)
- Oil for frying
1) In a large bowl, whisk together beer, eggs, and water.
2)To this mixture, whisk in cornstarch, then gradually whisk in flour until all but ½ cup remains.
3)With remaining flour, coat fish fillets. Add floured fillets to batter.
4)Deep-fry at 350 degrees on stovetop until golden brown (about 5 minutes).
Serve with beer-battered fries for a classic pub-style meal.
