Ever wondered why we’d name a beer after an infamous river fire or the notorious Eliot Ness? At our monthly Beer School we’ll divulge these stories... and maybe a few more after the first few beer samples.
Beer School provides a full tour of our production brewery and a tasting of six beers. The two-hour course meets in our Beer Symposium visitor’s center before touring the production brewery. Trained guides weave the history of Great Lakes Brewing Company into a detailed description of the brewing process and then lead guests through a 75-minute tasting with light snacks. (We know beer is liquid bread, but sometimes solid barley pretzels make a nice buffer.) All guests leave with a t-shirt, 5 ounce tasting glass, and the necessary knowledge to execute the perfect pour.
Come ready to learn as you drink because when it comes to an education in beer, the true overachiever graduates at the bottom of the glass.
