Great Lakes Brewing Co. and the Burning River Foundation Announce Dates for 2015 Burning River Fest
Annual Environmental and Beer Festival Returns August 28 and 29
Apr. 15th, 2015 – CLEVELAND, OHIO - The Burning River Foundation and Great Lakes Brewing Company (GLBC) are proud to announce that the Burning River Fest will return for its 14th year on Aug. 28 and 29 at the historic Coast Guard Station on Cleveland’s Whiskey Island.
In 2015, Burning River Fest invites guests to discover Cleveland’s historic Coast Guard Station with live music, fresh food from local farms and eateries, chef demos, and plenty of GLBC beer, including Burning River Pale Ale, Oktoberfest, and a special, yet to be determined beer perfect for summer and the Burning River Fest. Festival goers can dance, eat, drink, and socialize while celebrating one of Cleveland’s most unique monuments.
Built in 1940 by architect J. Milton Dyer and located at the mouth of the Cuyahoga River and Lake Erie, the now abandoned United States Coast Guard Station was once considered the most beautiful station in the nation. Burning River Fest will provide a unique opportunity for the public to explore and enjoy this incredible piece of architecture. Proceeds from the fest will be donated to the Burning River Foundation which is focusing its efforts on rehabilitating the Coast Guard Station as a place for recreation, education, and environmental research.
“The Coast Guard Station at Whiskey Island is the perfect example of where industry and nature rub elbows in Cleveland,” said Patrick Conway, co-founder of Great Lakes Brewing Co. “It’s exciting to know that thousands of people will come together to celebrate, and ultimately help save, one of the most unique and rarely seen places our waterfront has to offer”.
Ticket sales will be announced in the coming weeks and will be available for purchase on the Burning River Foundation website and at the festival each day. A discounted admission price and other special perks will be available when purchasing pre-sale tickets. Details regarding pre-sale will be announced soon.
