– 1/2 Gallon apple cider
– 2 Oranges, peeled and sliced
– 2 Red apples, sliced
– 1 Green apple, sliced
– 2 Whole cinnamon sticks
– 2 oz. Orange liqueur
– 4 oz. Spiced whiskey
– 4-5 Dashes orange bitters
– Dash ground allspice and cloves
– 12 oz. Christmas Ale
In a 4-quart slow cooker, add all ingredients except for Christmas Ale. Stir until well blended. Cover with lid and cook on low for about 2 – 2.5 hours, stirring and sampling occasionally. Add a little more than half of the Christmas Ale into the pot (the rest is for you!), replace lid, and let flavors blend for 20 minutes. Ladle into mugs. Top with whipped cream (optional)
For faster preparation, cook on high for around 1.5 hours. Do not let the contents boil, which will cook out the alcohol.
